Leonardo da Vinci Catapult
This catapult is one of da Vinci’s redesigns of the medieval catapults from about 400 years earlier. The medieval catapult uses the force of twisted rope, while this one uses the tension stored in bent wood to hurl objects, usually over 15 feet.
With no modifications you can experiment with flinging grapes and mini marshmallows. A great way to introduce graphing for kids!
Age rating: 14+. The kit can be built by people younger than 14 (we think kids 9 and up have the skills), but it launches a projectile, so please make sure there is parental supervision for the launching.
