Leonardo da Vinci Trebuchet
Build a working wooden model of Leonardo da Vinci's 15th-century trebuchet! Leonardo sketched many versions of this classic siege engine, which uses a falling counterweight to swing its throwing arm and launch projectiles a surprising distance.
All parts are pre-cut from natural, untreated wood and plywood and pegged for strength, so the finished model is sturdy enough to actually fire. Clay balls are included for launching. Assembly takes about 1–2 hours (glue needs time to dry), and the finished trebuchet looks great on a shelf, too.
A hands-on way to explore history, levers, gravity and energy transfer.
Age Rating: 9+. Because it launches a projectile, adult supervision is recommended during launching.
